ABOUT SHAI KOHEN, RSW
EXPERIENCE
Shai Kohen, BSW, RSW, is a Registered Social Worker that provides private therapy for adults, children and youth presenting with a range of concerns related to anxiety and depression, stress, low self-esteem, challenging relationships, school struggles, social skills, disruptive behaviours, family conflict, toxic masculinity, and emotion regulation.

With over 15 years of social work experience, Shai specializes in working with children and youth. Shai also regularly works with adults to provide counselling services. He uses an anti-oppressive and strength-based approach, working with individuals through their personal narratives. He tailors his practice to each individual client and their family.

Shai is currently a Social Worker at Greenwood College School, with a focus on individual and group counselling. Prior to that, for five years, Shai worked as a Social Worker at Crescent School. He also worked for the White Ribbon Campaign, the world's largest effort to engage men and boys in ending violence against women and girls. There, he ran a project with the Toronto Argonauts, bringing athletes to schools to discuss locker room culture and its effects on masculinity. He also worked at Big Brothers and Big Sisters of Toronto as an assessment coordinator and spent 10 years providing bereavement counselling through the Toronto Distress Centres.

Shai is a Registered Social Worker (RSW) with the Ontario College of Social Work and Social Service Workers (OCSWSSW) and a member of the Ontario Association of Social Workers (OASW). Shai has a Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) from Toronto Metropolitan University (formerly Ryerson University).
